Spring Programs

Recovery & Recalibration

Spring Hockey Training at The Armory

ARMORY SPRING DEVELOPMENT PHASE GRAPHIC

Recovery & Recalibration for Complete Athlete Development

Spring is a critical phase in long-term hockey athlete development. Following the physical and mental demands of the competitive season, spring training at The Armory emphasizes recovery, recalibration, and reconnection with the game.

This phase allows athletes to step away from constant performance pressure while continuing to develop in an intentional, age-appropriate environment.

Training Emphasis:

  • Decompress after the season
  • Free play and competition
  • Movement quality and athletic foundation
  • Optional tournament team participation

Integrated On-Ice & Off-Ice Training

ARMORY INTEGRATED HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT GRAPHIC

Our fully integrated on-ice and off-ice training model supports complete athlete development by addressing how athletes move, train, and play as one system.

Off-ice training focuses on restoring movement quality, building general strength, and supporting recovery.

On-ice sessions emphasize creativity, flow, and play-based skill development.

Together, these environments allow athletes to reset physically and mentally while maintaining positive training momentum.

Supporting Exploration & Skill Recalibration

Spring is intentionally designed to create space for athletes to reset, explore, and reconnect with the game. Alongside structured programming, independent, self-guided training plays an important role in helping athletes rebuild rhythm and confidence after the winter season.

At The Armory, athletes can supplement their spring training through:

  • Open Shooting on the synthetic ice rink

  • Open Stickhandling on the floor hockey rink / multi-sport court

  • Open Gym access for mobility and strength work (for athletes 16 years of age and older)

When used appropriately, these independent training opportunities encourage creativity, reinforce fundamentals, and support the broader recovery and recalibration focus of the spring phase.
